At the end of the semester, Alexandre Theriot gave the last Key Lecture of this year's "Architecture in Discourse" lecture series on Tuesday, 18 June, which was characterized by a variety of exciting lectures. The events took place in the "Superraum" in Dortmund's city centre and attracted students, lecturers as well as a supra-regional specialist audience and committed citizens of the Ruhr area. Supported by Gerber Architekten, FSB, Zetcon Ingenieure and Dortmund.kreativ, renowned architects presented their work and entered into a dialog with the participants.

Guests and inspiring topics

Jonathan Sergison addressed the complex and current problems in society and the associated challenges in architecture. He emphasized the need to discuss these issues with a broad public in order to find solutions that can have a positive impact on both social and urban space.

Roger Boltshauser presented sustainable and aesthetically sophisticated solutions in clay construction and encouraged an exchange of ideas.

Alexandre Theriot led the participants through an examination of specific works, shedding light on different perspectives and offering solutions as to how architecture can not only respond to these problems, but also contribute to improving social structures.

We would like to thank the speakers for sharing their expertise with us through the lecture series.

Many thanks also go to all those who took part in the lectures, especially the numerous students who showed an interest. Their participation and active discussion contributed significantly to the success of this lecture series.

We are already looking forward to the next semester and to more exciting lectures and discussions!
