Student competition at the Chair of Urban Design decided
In the "Traffic Planning" seminar, students developed exciting redesign proposals for the traffic areas between the St. Christophorus Gymnasium and the Anne Frank Gymnasium in Werne. The projects developed under the direction of Michael Frehn and Christian Bexen ranged from minimal interventions at neuralgic points to radical concepts, such as the complete displacement of car traffic in favor of a joint school campus. This range of ideas offered interesting approaches for the future development of the traffic area.
On Friday, August 9, the jury meeting took place at the TU Dortmund University's Chair of Urban Design, jessenvollenweider, where representatives of the parents, the teaching staff and the city of Werne judged the entries. Two prizes and two commendations were awarded.
The 1st prize went to Lea-Michelle Backs, Gabriel Kraus, Sarah Lenski, Leandra Gwendolyn Monczka and Lennart Oblong. The 2nd prize went to Leon Brockhoff, Laura Kreidel, Maik Riesenweber, Nathalie Saborrosch and Kim Kristin Steinbrecher. Recognitions were awarded to the teams Betül Arslan, Raphael Stankiewicz, Klaudia Renata Weber as well as Katharina Balkenhol, Anna Goershoff, Lea Marie Houben, Iris Johanne Müller and Luiz Seitz.
We would like to congratulate the award winners on their achievements and innovative ideas, which can provide an important impetus for further planning in Werne.
