We mourn the loss of our colleague

Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Maurer

Professor of Concrete Construction at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at TU Dortmund University

who passed away on March 7, 2026 at the age of 69.

As a dedicated university lecturer and long-standing member of our department, Prof. Reinhard Maurer shaped generations of engineers. With his passing, the professional world has lost an outstanding scientist and an esteemed engineering personality. His professional career was characterized by the close combination of scientific research, practical engineering responsibility and great commitment to the further development of structural engineering. In addition to his academic work, he was highly recognized as a test engineer and expert and was involved in numerous standards committees and national and international professional associations. With his expertise and personality, he has left a lasting mark on research, teaching and practice.

We pay tribute to a highly esteemed colleague and remember him with great respect.
