Lisa Kröger and Prof. Bettina Brune from the Chair of Steel Construction were awarded 1st place in the Dr. Michael Brenscheidt Transfer Prize. Congratulations on this achievement!

On the occasion of the Dr. Michael Brenscheidt Transfer Prize, Rector Prof. Manfred Bayer welcomed numerous guests to the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET). The CET Transfer Advisory Board selected the winners, who were awarded prize money totaling 10,000 euros. The sum is donated by Dr. Michael Brenscheidt. The prize is intended to recognize outstanding achievements in research transfer and to specifically promote the implementation of innovative business ideas and cooperation with practice partners.

Lisa Kröger and Prof. Bettina Brune from the Department of Steel Construction at the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering were particularly convincing. With their practical concept for the repair of steel bridges without full closures, they were awarded first prize, which is endowed with 6,000 euros. The two civil engineers defined criteria for injection screws for the first time and demonstrated both the practical feasibility and the economic advantage. In collaboration with a panel of experts from science and industry, the concept was transferred into national and European guidelines, enabling the method to be used immediately in Germany - not only for bridge renovation, but also in general construction.
