Contents of the conference
At the beginning of all heritage conservation work is the inventory. It selects the particularly significant architectural testimonies of each era for protection. However, this selection is a challenge - not least due to the large number of buildings from the recent past. A promising new approach appears to be the formation of knowledge networks in which heritage conservation institutions work together with actors from research, architecture, mediation and voluntary work. The conference will explore the potential of such networked cooperation using specific case studies. Last but not least, it will address the question of how AI can usefully support inventory in the future.
The conference is an event organized by the City of Bochum and the LWL-Denkmalpflege, Landschafts- und Baukultur in Westfalen in cooperation with the BDA Bochum, the Kemnader Kreis and the Kortum Gesellschaft Bochum.
Recognition of the conference as an advanced training event has been applied for from the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia (AKNW).
