Dear first semester students...

On behalf of the entire Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, we would like to welcome you!

Your studies with us will begin with the orientation phase on October 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The student council, i.e., the older students in our faculty, will welcome you here, show you around, and explain everything to you to help you get off to a good start in your studies. During the orientation phase, you will also receive important information about the course of study and many other explanations and useful tips. The first semester covers many of the basics of architecture and civil engineering. This requires a lot of materials, e.g., for drawing by hand or working on a laptop/PC. In consultation with the chairs, the Civil Engineering Student Council has compiled a list of all the materials you will need for a successful start to your studies. During orientation week, you will have the opportunity to purchase these materials at a reduced price. Participation in the orientation phase is therefore very important.

The lecture period then begins a week later on October 13, 2025, with the semester introduction for first-semester students. At 2:00 p.m., the introductory event for the two bachelor's programs will take place in HS 6, HG 1, Campus South. The professors will introduce you to your subjects in the first semester and tell you exactly when and where classes will start the next day and during the current week.

Afterwards, the 2025 exhibition will open for you. The best student work from the last two semesters will be on display in the department rooms and central areas of the buildings, giving you an overview of your studies. Academic staff will explain the exhibition to you and provide important information about the work on display. The student council and departments will provide food and drinks. The entire faculty will kick off the new academic year together.

We wish you all the best for the start of your studies and look forward to meeting you in person soon!

Warm regards from your study coordinators
